I'm not quitting my day job...
Garageband
is too cool.
It allows rock star wannabes with little or no talent (like me) to
easily create music that sounds like it was professionally
recorded and mixed.
Need an example? Look below for my latest recordings.
- 2005
Length: 03:20
Recorded: 1/2005
Instruments: 2 drum loops, 1 MIDI bass track and 3 recorded guitar tracks
Comments: One of my resolutions for 2005 was to write more songs.
I first started writing this song New Year's Day 2005 while recovering from a slight hangover.
I kept tweaking it during the first few weeks of 2005, but was never really happy with it. It was supposed to have lyrics and be the first of many
songs in 2005. So much for that. Since it's now 2006, I think it's safe to say that it's definitely finished. After all that work, I think it sounds
like something you'd hear in a diet soda commercial... or maybe a commercial about car insurance.
- Shoe
Length: 02:14
Recorded: 2/14/2005
Instruments: 1 drum loop, 1 guitar and 1 really really bad voice ;)
Comments: I can't sing, but it's the thought that counts - right? I wrote this song
for my honorary vanlentine - Shoe!
- Computer Program Love Song
Length: 03:55
Recorded: 5/15/2004
Instruments: Drum loops, synthesizer, blah, blah, blah, etc. This is the first song I created using my new digital piano.
Comments: I came up with this after watching Tron. I imagine
this is what's playing in the background when computer programs make out.
- It's A New Day
Length: 2:30
Recorded: 4/15/2004
Instruments: 3 drum loops and 3 custom guitar loops
Comments: I tried to make a happy song. This is my
sad attempt at combining dance club beats with my guitar.
- Emoish (48 Seconds You'll Never Get Back)
Length: 00:48
Recorded: 4/2/2004
Instruments: 2 drum loops and 3 guitar tracks
Comments: This is what you get when you mix the flu,
green tea chai, sudafed extra drowsy non-drowsy, and a guy
getting over a break up.
